Welcome to Opal Shih Tzu. We have been involved
in Shih Tzu since 1993 after I was taken with the breed while
working at a veterinary clinic. At that time I started attending
dog shows, handling classes, showing dogs for other people and after
careful consideration I then obtained my first Shih Tzu.
The Shih Tzu was originally bred to be a companion. Their sturdiness
and hardiness make them adaptable to city life or country living.
The Shih Tzu is a solid, little dog that is heavy for its size.
Opal Shih Tzu are raised in a loving home environment. With
thoughtful selection and a limited breeding program our goal is to
produce exceptionally good-natured, affectionate, intelligent, top
quality Shih Tzu. Our Shih Tzu are bred using the Canadian Shih Tzu
Standard as our guide to produce the very best Shih Tzu possible.
Our puppies are registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and we
strive to give them the best start in life possible! They make a
wonderful addition to any home.
Inquiries for show prospects or family companions are always
welcomed. Our companion puppies/dogs are sold to approved homes only
on non-breeding agreements requiring spaying or neutering.
Occasionally we have retired adults available to the right home. You
are welcome to contact us for more information about our
dogs/puppies.
